Syntphony Release Note | v1.12.0
Launched on 28 April 2025
New in this version
ACCESIBILITY
Improves accessibility for users with diverse abilities
USER EXPERIENCE
As part of our commitment to making our platform more inclusive, which has led to the implementation of several enhancements designed to better support users of all abilities, we are making significant accessibility improvements in our latest product update.
This release includes improvements to social information, such as the viewers, likes, comments, and tags panels. The Search feature has also been improved, including cards, pagination, filters, and contrast and visibility. Other general areas of the product have been improved as well.
ANALYTICS
Collecting data on how the Intranet is used has improved
USER EXPERIENCE
As part of our commitment to improve the statistics that can be obtained from the use of the Intranet, we have added the possibility of knowing the most used components in the Search, such as cards or views.
Thanks to this enhancement, administrators will be able to know, for example, if the architecture of the information used in the menu is correct.
Improvements
ADDONS
Improvements to the video component in cards
USER EXPERIENCE
The Video type component of the addon cards has been updated and can now indicate whether or not a video should be muted at startup. This allows administrators to easily customize settings and parameters to meet their needs.
MICROSOFT INTREGATION
Page width changes
ADAPTIVE MAINTENANCE
We have reduced the product’s page width to match the standard SharePoint configuration. This allows users to comfortably view content on higher resolution screens.
If you want to keep the previous configuration, you can customize your environment with the page width of your choice.
Support for custom fonts
ADAPTIVE MAINTENANCE
Product components have been updated to align with the new SharePoint custom fonts functionality. This adjustment ensures that all custom elements follow the latest typographic guidelines, improving visual consistency and user experience on the intranet pages.
Adaptation for Microsoft Application Insights change
ADAPTIVE MAINTENANCE
We have updated our product to reflect the recent switch to connection strings for data ingestion in Application Insights. Since Microsoft has discontinued support for instrumentation key-based global ingestion, our adaptation ensures that your Application Insights resources continue to function smoothly while staying in line with Microsoft’s evolving platform.
Retirement of the SharePoint SendEmail API
ADAPTIVE MAINTENANCE
We would like to inform you that we have adjusted our email sending process in response to recent changes made by Microsoft regarding the Utility.SendEmail API in SharePoint. As Microsoft has announced the retirement of the feature previously used in the product to send email from the Activity Center, we have implemented an alternative solution to provide efficient email services while staying in line with Microsoft’s evolving platform.
PERFORMANCE
Improved performance
USER EXPERIENCE
This release includes performance enhancements to user navigation, as well as an improved caching strategy that results in a better performance experience. This consists of adding cache to the most used API Management endpoints. Now the user can navigate more fluidly and with faster load times.
Fixings
ACTIVITY CENTER
Creating External Notifications for Microsoft 365 Groups
IMPORTANT
Following recent changes to the creation of external notifications, where it was possible to notify security groups and distribution lists, in this release we have added the option to notify Microsoft 365 groups. This gives administrators more flexibility to notify all types of groups that the organization may have.
Usability improvements in the Activity Center
USER EXPERIENCE
After the release of the new Activity Center, we have made several usability improvements to the feature, so that administrators and users do not receive some unwanted behavior.
COMMUNITIES
Correcting the modification of Communities
FIXING
Some undesired behaviors have been found when creating or editing communities. This is due to some changes in the columns configuration. The problems have been fixed so that administrators can create or edit communities in a more stable way.
Fix in community navigation menu
FIXING
We have fixed an issue with enabling audiences in a community’s navigation menu where menu items would not display if at least one audience was not applied. Now, menu items will display correctly even if no audiences have been configured. This improvement provides a smoother and more accessible navigation experience for all users.
CONTENTS
News are not saved as drafts
FIXING
When saving a news item from the product edition form, it is now published directly instead of remaining in draft. The behavior has been changed to leave the news in draft so that users do not see the final content until the contributors decide to publish it, which is the expected behavior.
MULTILANGUAGE
Improved menu language control
USER EXPERIENCE
When loading the main menu from the cache, the user’s current language was not taken into account, which could lead to inconsistencies in the displayed data. Now users will see the menu items in the selected language.
Redirection does not keep the selected language
USER EXPERIENCE
The redirect does not maintain the selected language, so while a user is browsing the intranet, the page languages are not maintained in the multi-language button, causing inconsistencies in navigation. Now the page language is correctly maintained during navigation, improving the user experience.
SEARCH
Wrong results when filtering by tag
FIXING
Sometimes when a contributor tries to filter a Dashboard by tag, they do not get the results they expect. This is because there is content that uses the same taxonomy as the category and tag. This case is controlled so that content is displayed to users as configured by the contributor.
Incorrect analytics data from search
FIXING
In some cases, when a user performs a query, the query is not logged correctly. This causes administrators to see incorrect data in the product’s Power BI Analytics report. This undesirable behavior is being corrected to prevent data inconsistencies in the future.
Usability improvements to the scope selector in Search
USER EXPERIENCE
We have made several usability improvements to the scope selector in Search, so that administrators and users do not receive some unwanted behavior.
USER EXPERIENCE
General user experience improvements
USER EXPERIENCE
As part of improving the user experience, we have made improvements to the style and usability of product components.
For example, we changed the URL of the fallback image for card designs. Also, audiences are no longer applied to webparts when editing a page, so a contributor can better manage them by seeing them all.
