Applications

Application is an addon that Syntphony offers by default. This addon is used to create shortcuts to management applications.

Applications have three forms: creating, editing and viewing

How to create a new application?

To create a new application, you must click on the search engine at the top of the page and select the option “Create an application”.

The form is composed of the following fields:

• Title: This is a mandatory field that allows you to specify the title of the new content.

• Description: This field allows you to post a short text about what the application is.

• URL: In this field you must indicate the url of the application.

• Open in new tab: With this selector you can indicate whether the application should open in a new tab or in the same tab.

• Highlighted: allows you to choose whether you want to highlight the application or not.

• Logo: By means of this field you can publish the logo of the application

• Community to share: Through this field you can specify the Syntphony community where the application will be shared. Only one community can be specified.

• Author: This field can be used to specify the person who published the addon. By default, the profile of the person who created the content appears, but it can be changed to specify another person.

• Details: Through this drop-down menu you can indicate a brief description, images and related links that will be displayed in the market place.

• Audience targeting: This drop-down allows you to categorise the addon and segment the audience as explained in this article.

What is the marketplace?

The marketplace is a functionality where all the company’s applications are displayed, but each application has its own section, in which a description of what the application is, pictures of how it works and links related to the application, such as user manuals, can be published.

You can access the marketplace from the Applications menu and right-click on the application to access its details.

How is an application displayed?

The case of the applications is slightly different from the rest of the addons, as it does not have a display, but when you click on it, you access directly to the URL that you have indicated in the creation form.

How to edit an application? 

You can edit the addon as many times as necessary until you get the desired result. The edit form allows you to update all the fields filled in the creation form, except for the community to share field.
